WFDR and J93.3

I noticed that J93.3 is also identifying as WFDR AM Manchester, which is a daytime-only 1 kW station on 1370. Why are they simulcasting on the AM? Manchester should have excellent coverage from J93.3, and 1370 doesn't exactly cover a densely populated area.
 
The simulcast is only to keep WFDR operational at minimum expense. WFDR serves a dying area and is essentially worthless. Provident gave up many years ago after trying many different ideas to make the station viable.
Rumour is that the station has been sold, or will be soon, to the people who got the CP for the new FM licensed to Woodbury. I'm glad historical WFDR will get a new breath of life.
