WFFN THE BEAR

'The Bear' Returns To Tuscaloosa, AL

No, Bear Bryant hasn't risen from the departed. But Citadel did debut WFFN (The Bear)/Tuscaloosa, AL July 8. Citadel/Tuscaloosa OM Greg Thomas is overseeing the station for now. WFFN is presently jockless and is airing "Jack"-like promos declaring "We play what you want." The liners are being voiced by former WUSN/Chicago PM driver Bill Lloyd. WFFN had been Oldies until temporarily going silent on June 30.

I saw the earlier posts when it was launched this week/last week. I've listened some. It's not too terribly bad, considering it doesn't have any talent yet. Any word on who and when for talent?

I notice the article(s) on the station said nothing about its new format. Is it Variety Hits (or Adult Hits or whatever you want to call it) or still Oldies or another format altogether?<P ID="signature">______________

95.3. They're doing country to compete with TXT

Which makes me wonder if 95.3 will be a good competitor for TXT??? They have to get things going there with bringing in some jocks and a good format or they've just wasted money. Who has 95.3? Citadel?
