WFIL airing Super Bowl??

WIP's program guide says they have it. Click the On-Air Schedule at http://www.610wip.com for an Excel spreadsheet that lists it.

Nothing on WFIL's site says that...and I would sincerely doubt it, if WIP has it. However, Mr. May may have some connections...

FWIW, WEEU / 830 Reading will have the game as well, with the pre-game starting at 3 PM (egad). Puts a somewhat decent signal into Philadelphia in the evening.

WIP's schedule for this week is correct on the website and WIP 610 AM WILL carry the super bowl at 5 PM EST Sunday night on radio in the city of Philadelphia and the suburbs. The westwood one website radio listings for play by play sports are mostly not correct. http://images.westwoodone.com/images/pdf/Super Bowl Stations _2_.pdf I would contact Westwood One about it.

Everybody I know plans to watch the game on TV. I don't know anyone who plans on listening to it on the radio. Why does it matter if a radio station carries it? I suppose cab drivers and paramedics care, but who else???

WFAN in NYC is carrying the game, telling listeners to turn the tv volumn down and turn up the radio - not that anyone will. But apparently WFAN knows that some people ARE listening.

Some people will be on the road during at least part of the game. I've had to leave parties mid-game when I knew I had to be up especially early the next day; as a result, I appreciated having access on the radio.

But, you're right -- the percentage of people *watching* vs. *listening* is likely higher for the Super Bowl than any other live sports event.

Here in Northeast Ohio, the two big AM sports-oriented stations (WTAM/1100, WKNR/850) are listed on the WW1 site, and they're both actively promoting their carriage of the game tomorrow.
