Did the sign-off also include the "This is Philadelphia" spiel used for the sign-on?

Yes it sure did include it!The sign on went like this:

Good morning! This is WFIL-TV(from late 1969-May 1 1971)/WPVI-TV(from May 2 1971-late 1990) in Philadelphia!then a few seconds of the america the beautiful theme then Paul Norton said This is Philadelphia!

The sign off started with Paul Norton saying this is Philadelphia.

As mentioned before a very classic sign on and sign off used for over 20 years.I remember seeing this is 1990 and seeing late 1960s cars in 1990 was cool.

The sequence had incredible staying power finally changed in late 1990 4 years into the ABC ownership of ch 6 to reflect that the station was now an ABC O&O.

Another example of ch 6's resistant to change anything.
