The demise of the 1260 in Newark, Delaware is allowing WFJS to get rid of the worst of their null to the southwest. In August they got a construction permit calling for a small power increase (from 5000 to 5900 watts) and the addition of a fourth tower to their daytime array. Looks like it should give them better coverage in Lower Bucks and at least some signal in parts of Philadelphia, Burlington and Camden Counties that they didn't reach previously. Before:

No change to their night service. The Delaware station may have been doomed by the loss of its transmitter site; apparently rather than limp along on reduced power they cut a deal to go silent that allowed Salem to let out the pattern of their 1260 in Washington DC. WFJS's improvement is a by-product of that arrangement.
