WFKB On Yes.com ... This Ain't Christian Music!

Apparently, Frank-FM switched to Christian music late Monday morning. Curious, I went to Yes.com to fidn out what the last song played might have been...

It looks like they played "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" not once, but twice, before the switchover.

Then, what follows on the song log is quite interesting.

Over the next several hours, listed on the WFKB song log are tracks from Usher, Luther Vandross, and even Rick James!

Check it out:

What happened here? Is the Yes.com sensor picking up another channel in the area, or did the WFKB calls immediately switch over to another station somewhere in the country, and this is their music?

WFKB is dead air until tomorrow, I believe. What you're hearing is WBLS. I only know because I head a 'BLS imaging piece in between one of the songs...

Is it transmitting dead air, or is the transmitter off?
Unless they need to do critical maintenance, turning the transmitter off is stupid.
I think Yes is picking up WBLS's music. Compare it to WBLS, and it may be the same.

Could going silent for two or three days be a rare form of "stunting"?

Maybe more sensible than some of the stunting I read about.

They are broadcasting and have been since mid-day yesterday, although it does appear to be on reduced power as someone on the Lehigh/Reading board mentioned. They're broadcasting all Christian music non-stop and only breaking for the legal ID. Last night they were IDing with as WFKB/WFKB-HD, but this morning already I think I heard an ID of WBYN.

I'm guessing that perhaps they are broadcasting from their aux facility, which is right at their studio location in Boyertown.
