WFLA 105.9 FM

I think that what the Clear Channel folks did with obtaining the 105.9 signal is very smart. The signal comes in nicely in northern Hillsborough and in downtown Tampa. Too bad the folks at USF basically took the Classical format away from us. I have no idea what they meant to do with 103.9 as the signal is awful everywhere I go.

Anyway, it is a real shame that Clear Channel did not do what they did in Orlando and place the Smooth Jazz (or an AAA format) on 105.9. Who would have thought the male 25-54 market is impossible to sell in Tampa?

Is WFLA going LPFM at 95.3 in Pinellas County? The Joy FM is on 95.7 HD-2. Does anyone know when this will happen.

They're replacing REACH-FM on 94.5 in Pinellas. Transmitter moving from the Gandy / Derby Lane site to the old 97.9 tower North of Park/Starkey... I believe.

Enjoy WFLA on 105.9 while you can - once the bigger 97.9 signal becomes WFLA, you can call 105.9 "106 Rock"! :p
