WFLA 94.5 Panama City

Interesting side note...that station's call sign is actually WFLF...I wonder how kosher it is for them to go by a moniker that is the call sign of another FM station? Of course, they're both Clear-Channel owned...but...still...

As long as they do the actual legal ID hourly and provided that they have an agreement with the actual WFLA, there's no problem.

Keep in mind that the ORIGINAL WFLA (AM) in Tampa is a Clear Channel property. That station's News/Talk format is the genesis of the "WFLA" brand that CC has rolled out across the state, including Panama City.

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet (understatement?) that CC/PC has an "agreement" to allow it to use the "WFLA" brand.

As a previous poster noted, the legal calls for 94.5 are "WFLF-FM/Parker," which airs once per hour. They could call themselves "Snot Radio" as long as they use the legal ID once an hour.

And knowing the history of the formats on that frequency over the years, it wouldn't surprise me to find out they actually used that moniker at one time or another.

I personally preferred the All-Gospel format that Ron Kight programmed when Asterisk owned 94.5, back in the early 1990s! ::)

Did the former WJST-FM 94.5 pull any decent numbers with Southern Gospel?
