WFLA: Biased even during a storm

I love how the guy doing the 9:30 PM news update on Saturday night stopped and took the time to interrupt his update on the tropical storm to go on a diatribe about two "alleged" convention protestors who were arrested in a parking garage for having an unauthorized firearm, going out of his way to mention that they were supsected "convention protestors."

Because two people who might be in town to protest the RNC getting arrested for a misdermeanor gun posession charge is more important than providing accurate and up to date information on a possible hurricane.

I looked up the story on Bay News 9 and based on the info I read of how they reported the event, there is no bias in how WFLA reported it.

And Issac is not directly hitting the Bay Area, nor was it on track to last night. We DO know the RNC is in town.

Not only are they having their convention in Tampa but security is key. Anyone with a gun found where they shouldn't be IS newsworthy.

If you've been watching the computer models for a few says, you know this storm has been a non-event for Tampa almost from the beginning. The MSM getting all breathless, that's all. If they want to cover the storm rather than the convention, they'd better serve their bosses by heading for New Orleans. It's going to be a lot more interesting over there.

N'awlins, LA or Mobile, AL.

As for the reporting on the storm, it is either about the storm or it is about guns. My guess is that it was neither about the storm, nor about the convention for that matter, both of which were more side issues in that case.

Let's see, Katrina hit Mississipi and N'Awlins took the storm surge and the brunt of the storm; therefore, if we follow the same rationale (as if hurricanes were rational), drought stricken Texas takes the brunt of the storm surge. Hmmmm, how ever might that affect the vote? :)o)
