WFLA-TV Debuting 7 PM Newscast

Additional revenue in ad sales for Olympics followed by the election. Will be gone by January when Media General "goes in a different direction" by blowing up the Trib and "focusing on the gains we have made with our 5 and 6 o'clock newscasts blah blah blah..."

...blowing up the Trib...

In this age of dying newspapers, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

I did some work for Media General (WFLA-8) 20 years ago when I tried Florida life.

It was a shock to me as I was used to working rules in the Northeast.

That said - How Media General has destroyed WJAR in Providence ( NBC sold it a few years ago ) has been tragic to watch.

@AZ: I knew someone in this area took a stab at 7 PM news. Thanks. (Looking at Channel 66's Wiki, the ratings for the live 7 PM news via WFLA were so bad, they shifted to reruns of the 6 PM news at 7 PM.)
