WFLF aka 94.5 WFLA back up to full power----FINALLY

WFLF finally switched back to their main transmitter site at full power (100kw) tonight at 620 pm (12/2). We had to move to a temporary transmitter site while major structural work was done on the 1000 ft tower North of Port St Joe. Weather (including numerous days with high winds at 1000 ft), fabrication problems and other factors extended this project by over 30 days......Crown Castle owns the tower and was responsible for the work. We had been on the temporary transmitter site (300 ft tower with 6kw ERP) since late September........and they got all the strobies working on the tower too Tibbs!

Look here Robert Deniro (aka The Deer Hunter)...you can blame others for this alleged delay of that pole. I know better. Until I see actual video footage on youtube, I will not feel comfortable to sleep knowing these strobies are alive and well. Is this the same tower that goes back into (I guess) the 1980's or earlier? Can it handle all 300 strobies's? Is a pre-fab another word for a
Hooter's upgrade?

Now if you can just figure out a way to get the 94.5 translator jammer in the Destin area shut off!

CCENG, the 94.5 auxiliary signal, even at 6kw from the WDIZ site, still packed a pretty powerful wallop. You've got that thing humming, I'll give you that. Congrats on finally getting the big stick back up and running.

Today I was able to put WPBH (93.5) back up to full power too. The tower crew got all of their rigging off the tower (some of which was very near the 93.5 antenna at 660 ft). WFLF and WPBH are on the same tower.

That's good news. I'm very happy to hear both stations are back to par serving the market.

Why is this station called WFLA? I thought the only and real WFLA was in Tampa? Are they affiliated with one another? I'm confused. I need more egg nog.

All "WFLA" stations are owned by Clear Channel.....we use it as a moniker for a lot of the news/talk stations in Florida.....WFLF is the actual callsign and you will hear that once an hour during the legal ID.

I bet that is confusing when the tropo is going. what's a legal id? a cuban station?

Merry Christmas, CCENG and to all a good strobey.

Those folks down in Carrabelle, Sopchoppy, and Alligator Point must be real confused with WFLA's on 100.7, 94.5, 970, and 540. I bet you it's a Clear Channel conspiracy to devalue St. Joe land! ???

What are yee sayin? A bunch of straight trees dont have feelins ... or ears??? What?

If a CC signal falls on PStJ property, and there's nada human for 10,000,000 square acres...

Curious, who's got the best signal out there in the Southern Lower Alabama? Something out of PCola or PCity?
