WFLF Jamer increased power

The W2.. whatever is much stronger now, and needs to get off of 94.5. Their signal broke up in Destin and I wonder when it will be gone? SanDestin? Do they sound awful. Half of the time, they don't do proper legal ID's and the satellite feed takes over their automation.

we are working on it Rob....but we need some more letters before we can file anything.....I was in FWB/Destin this week and they sound lousy....for once, you are right ! You get a strobey award !

cceng, I live in Pensacola (32502) but I drive down to FWB and south Walton for work. WFLF-FM is one of my 5 presets in Pensacola and was my preferred station on the car radio dial while I was down sanDestin way before the FSU FWB translator came on the air. Would a letter from me help ?

I'm not looking to harm Hale's business or take away his translator but I assume the worst thing that could happen would be a FCC mandated channel change... which I truly believe would help him if he can move that baby to the right channel... there are still clear frequencies on the dial in FWB. 94.5 was not one of them. I don't understand why Hale isn't trying to get a better channel on his own instead of waiting for you to force it on him. Or is this the easiest/cheapest way for him to move to a better frequency?

Question for you guys.. I just heard Rick Dees mention that Destin is the #1 beach for 2011. I wonder if this is targeted for this area or did he mention this nationwide?

On a side note, WFLF is coming in loud and clear W2 whatever is off the air but not 1400

Just to keep this thread alive, they are not doing LEGAL ID's properly, and dead air at 3am, I'm sorry, if the owner is reading this, your station sucks. I applaud your effort to bring talk radio to our market, but maybe we can get a full powered WFLA affiliate up here in Pensacola sometime.

I wonder if anyone can give us a small history lesson on the legacy of the owner Rob's referring to? That would probably explain everything.

That was just my way of checking up on you, CCENG. ;D

It has been an amazing magic bus ride, so far, barring bars that don't feature gin...
For the Crying Calamity of it all, I dunno how Freedom still ring$.

How do we tell Hale that his automation is messed up, I was listening to Alex Jones and he was overdubbed by USA satellite radio or whatever they air over him? It's horrible!

Sounds like more brilliant broadcasting. 0ne has to wonder how much $$$, if any, he has made over the years. If he had only done it right, he'd have a pretty amazing cluster. We all know what kinda real cluster he has...

Despite their efforts, WFLF is coming in strong even got the RDS to confirms it. They need to get the hell out of 94.5

I agree that strobey obsessed engineery man needs to pull the plug on the WTFL 94.5 and let Hale take the full capacity of 2 watts with Freedom while it lasts and it's eleven strobeys tower stick thing on the bridge and six three letter federal agencies doing investigations.

FYI, Freedom 94.5 is applying to FFC to move frequency. For the benefit of the listeners. And all the letters that cceng tries to get won't make a bit of difference. Okaloosa County is not part of their coverage area.

They were off the air this morning.. and try telling that to my radio! WFLF has a powerful signal and in a tropo zone.. 9 times out of 10, even with non tropo conditions, I can hear them. and this with an indoor antenna (non directional) ..someday, I'll get a tower and a directional yagi so I can listen to 100.1 FM (which I do enjoy)

Coverage area, and signal strength doesn't matter in the case of an existing well recieved full class FM station vs. a translator or LPFM. ALL WFLF has to prove is that it had a signal with listeners who miss the signal. The jammer, as it's lovingly referred to, would have to do an engineering study and move to another frequency. If none are available, it would be forced to sign off. Translators and LPFMs don't have protected coverage.

BalthazarFM ......fwillis is correct.....FCC sez contours don't count when it comes to translators they are never protected......it would be much easier if Hale would find a frequency on his own and move.....he can control the situation BUT if he gets a letter from the Commission telling him to shut down, he doesn't control the situation and his listeners don't know what happened. He would have better coverage if he would find a frequency and move to it before that happens.....because it will if he doesn't take action soon.
