That coverage area is amazing! Nothing like going from 100kw powerhouse to a friggin' Christmas light. What CP will gain any real traction on this signal? Geez. Whats an ad running on here? $1. per spot, get 100 free?

Ok, so your saying 90.7 is HD? I have full signal strength and it's not locking. I must be too far away.

Things are changing and I'm not paying much attention to these stations... but I believe this is the current setup:
Since the 100kw powerhouse went country they have replaced it with:

"The Ticket", still on 100.3 in FWB, with 3000 watts, with a Pensacola simulcast on 1490 in Milton, with 1000 watts.

"Freedom Radio" is on 1400 in FWB, with 1000 watts, and simulcasts on 1280 in DeFuniak Springs, with 5000 watts, and also the new 94.5 translator in FWB, with 225 watts.

That's 10,225 watts total! (I made an A in math class)

Your mathematical computation is flawless. It's amazing it only took 5-seperate stations (or signals) to reach 10,225 watts of power. ;)

That's an average of less than one listener per station. Hale should flip to all Christmas now.

... just thinking , I spent a few minutes as that one listener... How sad.

Poledo - one thing is sure and i have to give it to Ron Hale --- he has been able to talk the owners of the single stations into selling or leasing them to him. He has a gift of that. Hodoth he do it?

I wonder why he just doesn't just apply for a 100KW stick on 99.1 or an unused frequency here. VS having all of these translators - The TICKET bought their death wish. Ron needs to bring back KROCK. I LOVED that station. It was finally forming local flavour when it died. I loved the way the jocks talked about "another accident on highway 98.. please be careful" as we have so many of them. If Mr. Hale is reading these forms - get some balls and quit dicking with your listeners. I believe in Karma -it's a bitch and you will get what's coming to you.

The complaints on the TICKET's forms about the lack of signal in pensacola was a disgrace. What's annoying is, he's still having spots for pensacola businesses - I bet the signal is trashed at night due to the nighttime soup.

HALE should take a look at a local institution - WAAZ.

Let's try going with the easiest answer...
Hale can not afford it. Why do you think he sold 98.1 in the first place?
Does that answer light up your strobie?

Sports is now a well known format hole in Pensacola. If someone knew they could make more money with sports, we would have a sports station. With UF, Bama and Auburn being the last three BCS championship teams and the new regime in at FSU, I would think Sports would be a no-brainer... I must be wrong... or maybe something will change before football season starts. ;)

As far a Krock, you aren't missing it. There wasn't anything special about it. Just be happy that we have 99-Rock. They are one of the best AOR rockers in the southeast.

99.1 is not unused. It's the home of Biloxi's top rated 100kw Country station... and owned by Clear Channel.
