WFLY Gets a PD

Is 104.9 the Cat going away soon? They seem to be running on a thread right now... (and something big is coming to Jamz 96.3, I'd bet it's a concert or something :p)

Needless to say, Ally Reid seems like a great fit for Fly 92.3 :)
 
I wonder if their former PD is kicking himself yet. His current station is not exactly what you would call a success story...

I'm assuming your speaking of Terry. He knows what he's doing and what he walked himself into. Crush is going through a major transition. Being jockless for months as they figure what they are doing, I'm sure by now they know.

I'm sure he's not regretting his move.
 
I wonder if Ally will get double duty and stay with/on the Cat or if she'll only do Fly....that being said...will she be on air on Fly? and if so...which day part will she take over?

IMO, If I were the PD. The first thing I would do is look at each personalities numbers...And if you consistently low, you gotta make a move. I don't think they have a weak spot. I really don't. And you have to wait at least a year to wait for Beatle Bill for his. Unless they think he is horrible.

I don't know the Cat's numbers. One would have to assume if they are not up to par, it's gone. Allie would go to Fly full time. I like Suzy. If I were to have to change anything, it would be Bill...
 
May be Ally should let Bill go. Keep Suzy in mid-days and then move Marissa to nights and then Ally could do afternoons.
 
My sources at ABC hinted today that Ally Reid will fill the midday post soon to be vacated by Suzy Garcia, whom is here temporarily. Ally will soon leave her post at the Cat.
 
WZMR/104.9 would probably have the best success if they had a format they were exclusive to... remember that WAJZ on 96.3 has a very similar signal strength/pattern, yet does well (around 5 share) due to being nearly exclusive to the Urban/Rhythmic format :)

Albany just can't support a second country station, IMO... remember Country on 96.3? Froggy 104.9/107.1? 93.7 The Eagle?
 
It would seem the Cat isn't coming close to WGNA. 9.0 to a 2.1. The Cat's ratings have been consistently low while WGNA have been tremendous. This is a no-brainer to pull the plug or change formats.
 
What format would be best for 104.9? I could think of a couple: Magic simulcast, AAA, Urban AC, or even Smooth Jazz...

Magic on 590 and 104.9 could help put a dent in WTRY... AAA could work but might have too much overlap with Rock 100.9...
