WFLZ 93.3 is very dance friendly

I was listening to 93.3 FLZ in Tampa, and heard an awesome dance mixshow Saturday night. I even heard Cry For You in regular rotation in the night.

Not surprised FLZ added it - the station doesnt shy away from Dance music.
As for Saturday night, Nick heard the Saturday Night House Party. It's been on for ages now, and Finky (Brian Fink) has been hosting it for like 7 years now. The show starts around 7, and at 10 PM FLZ broadcasts from a club. There's also Dance music played Friday nights from 10-2 on Club 933.

I wish more CHR stations would do what FLZ is doing Friday/Saturday nights.
Z100 in New York had What Hurts The Most in heavy rotation for weeks.

Actually my local CHR WBWB Bloomington plays more Dance in regular rotation than FLZ does, Plus, they have the 5 o clock Road Rage with all Dance live in the Mix every weekday. There are at least 5 to 10 dance songs in lite to medium rotation at WBWB.

WBWB is in a unique situation - it's the only Contemporary station in its market. No Rock station, no Hot A/C, no Rhythmic, not even a traditional A/C - just a bunch of Country and religious stations outside of WBWB.

Well, they have a local AAA, and they have fringe signals from WZKF and WMGI, but thats about it. Radio now 100.9 doesnt make it into Bloomington on their newer Weaker signal. The Dance increased when Radio now moved to 100.9 and changed to Radio One from Emmis. I wonder why U-93 in South Bend, and WAZY in Lafayette arent more Dance Friendly since they are all owned by A.M.P.

Just happened onto this board and this thread..

Charles, as always through the years, I can't thank you enough for the support and the props you show the, umm...show. :) It makes all the hard work and time spent on a measily 3 hour show worth every second of it, just to see that people enjoy it. So Nick, I can't thank you enough as well for the support.

There he is, the man himself! Great to see more and more people from Tampa making their way to the board. DJ Dalimah posts here on occasion, James Burlander, and now the one and only Brian Fink!
Will try to tune in this Saturday night if I get the chance. Is FLZ planning something special for Memorial Day?

Speaking of FLZ, former Kovacs posted something on his Myspace about being on XL 106.7 in Orlando, so Orlando will probably see a Dance-intensive mixshow soon.

Mo, as previously mentioned on the board, XL has had a good dance mixshow for a few months now on Friday/Saturday nights. It has a few great breaks remixes of songs I can't find anywhere on the net. The friday mixshow is hosted in studio and live calls are aired.

I know. It's called "Mixphoria" on Friday nights with David. Not so much Pure Dance, just remixes of overplayed Top-40 songs.

I know Stick uses a DJ from Jacksonville for his "Weekend Rollout", which sounds about the same as "Mixphoria". I wouldn't be surprised if it was that same DJ that did "Mixphoria" the past few months after Dolce closed.

XL's mixshows will probably begin to sound more like FLZ once Kovacs gets in, which is what I'm looking forward to.

Boy, what an introduction! lol Thank you Charles. Good seeing you still posting strong as well!! FLZ is out at Shephards all weekend broadcasting. As for the House Party, we're giving in to the masses and doing all Old School for the holiday weekend. :D

I have to admit, SNHP has been my favorite show on the station... I was 13 years old when I first tuned into Club 933 and the SNHP (first time listening to FLZ all together), and discovered my infatuation with the dance music scene...

I'm looking forward to the possibilities of our HD-2 in the future... it's all Fink's mind and creation... should be great!

Back to the original topic... I get a huge smile on my face when I see I'm going to be talking up "One More Time" or "Heaven" still. If you ask anyone on staff who begs for more dance music, they'd probably say my name.

Kovacs is now doing Extreme XL on Friday night and Club XL on Saturday night with Kovacs and DJ X. Its sounds much better than what XL had been doing since last year.
