wflz on wtks?

this was vary weird. i was flipping through the radio and heard "mia - paper plains" on wtks. i thought for a minute they changed formats untill iheard "933 wflz" and i thought "what the heck is this doing on wtks?" anyone else noticed this?
 
Wow, I tuned in at the exact same time and thought the exact same thing.

The only thing I can think of is if the station was in automation and there was a flub command in the log that changed the audio's source from the audio server to the satellite feed from Tampa (not sure why that would even be available, but who knows).
 
So how long did the incident remain before it was corrected?
 
Now I'm really reaching here as I don't know much about the practical mechanics of how this is all done but my dad was an expert level ham so I soaked up a bunch of stuff from him though the years. That and what I've pieced together from being a fan of radio for a while now.

As best I can tell the tower for WTKS is in Bithlo but the Clear Channel offices are clearly in Orlando. I can only imagine that the other CC towers are in various other spots around the area. As such there must be some sort of master control system that puts the various feeds out to the various towers.

So as someone else pointed out there may have been some sort of automated setup running where the control system moved the wrong feed to the wrong tower for a bit. And or the same type deal only human error.

Dude, as someone else posted once we get it. You don't like the majority of programming on WTKS. And now your are pushing your political views on us as well.

Could you do us all a favor and try to post with the aim of being constructive rather than just slamming what you don't like at every moment? There plenty of things that people don't like but we don't all feel the need all the time to yell it at everyone.

Please.
 
If it was Sunday afternoon, could it have been a fluke in plumbing in the Buc's football game ... or laziness in getting back to the local feed? Don't think FLZ has the Bucs ... but I can imagine the mistake of plugging in the wrong feed.
 
The Bucs games are on US103.5 and 620. Could be any number of things... I have actually heard some fairly wild rumors about cost cutting at the newly private CC that have them evolving into almost network radio, with a small number of personalities on a very large number of stations (for little to no extra compensation). I just bet it was a teeny bit more than a total accident.
 
Best guess is TKS was receiving the Bucs broadcast (in automation) and when the broadcast ended the Tampa office defaulted back to the FLZ signal on that satellite channel. They could be using the same channel for MJ Morning Show simulcasting to Jacksonville and so forth. Sounds to me like a glitch in the Maitland studios following the Bucs broadcast.
 
Like I said before...this is something that should happen more often.

It would be so damn funny to hear Philips talking smack about stuff that he does not like (which is the majority of everything that exists) , and have Hannity come on and talk about those cheesy "Freedom Concerts" that he is always promoting, and then have Philips come back on, only to be interrupted again.....that would be absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I think that billalm gave a good explanation on what probably happened.....
 
i'm willing to believe that bucks thing. i know wtks has the bucks on there station and prob for got to switch the local feed to vt and music or something...
 
This actually happened a week or two ago during the Shannon Burke Show. They were doing commercials
and had some dead air for a sec then all of a sudden you heard the FLZ legal ID, then they played WTKS
ID. Shannon commented on it and Cabin Boy said the buttons on his board stopped worked and all lite up.
So much for computers making our lives easier lol

Well maybe if the companies would stop firing the guys who maintain these things...
