WFMX: it has been five years

I just sent a private message to someone who I noticed joined around the time I did. I first visited this site looking for people ranting about the change by WFMX from country to urban.

And that was five years ago this week.

105.7 is a good CHR now. It sounds a lot more like a mainstream CHR than KZL does.

Flame on!

Signal still doesn't reach as far as the old 100k signal WFMX broadcast at (signal is still the 34k they cut to when moving to Clemmons and becoming "Kiss"), but the format seems to be holding on better than the previous one (I wish they'd kept the "Kiss" name though; it would have fit well with this format).

Smart move by Clear Channel. I agree, 105.7 is a great CHR and actually, they were kicking KZL's butt in the last book. More power to them, I say! :D

::) I hate "Hillbilly Music! ROCK ON!!!!bigape

I agree with EA... I miss WFMX although Country Legends 92.9 sounds really good and has great on air people. It just doesn't have any reach operating off the translator.

WFMX was exceptional at serving the listeners in WNC. Personality, a good mix of country and a true NASCAR station.

Now just another casualty.

550 AM goes much further. With WAME being on the left end, 500 watts goes a long way. Of course, that's just during the day.
