WFMZ changes it classic shows

The WFMZ Tues-Fri schedule 1-5pm includes 1 ep. of Cosby (down from 2), addition of Family Ties (WFMZ had it back in 2000 or so), addition of I Love Lucy (2 episodes), Brady Bunch (WFMZ ran it back some months ago), Saved by the Bell (new to WFMZ) and Matlock. Apparently, Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley have been dropped. Mork& Mindy was dropped several months ago. Happy Days is still seen on WGN Cable and sometimes TV Land (they change their schedules all the time). Laverne & Shirley is on Lifetime Real Women. You need DirecTV to get these channels. Possibly Lifetime has exclusive rights for Laverne&Shirley at this point.

WPHL has dropped the Mad About You/The Nanny combo it seems, and has no intention of placing any comedies during the day for MY WPHL. WWOR 9 runs comedies in the morning. Fox runs its stations better.

I think WFMZ passes on Bewitched/Jeannie (witch related) and shows like Roseanne and Cheers - any comedy that's isnt squeaky clean even though they carry Judge Judy/Judge Joe Brown, which aren't squeaky clean. They should drop their morning infomercial block, replace with Happy Days, add the Andy Griffith Show (2 episodes), and The Nanny.

New season starting. Syndication contracts ending and beginning.
WFMZ and most stations often change programming either to prune weak performers or just to rotate programs in and out of the schedule. Look for changes on the cable channels, too.
WFMZ is owned by a religious broadcaster, hence squeaky clean programming.
Apparently, they aren't going back to including action dramas in the daytime schedule (Hawaii Five-O, Rockford) as they did before.

And that religious broadcaster is....?

1. maranatha broadcasting corporation, or MBC as it's sometimes credited

And I believe Richard "Dick" Dean (CEO) was a one-time sitting boiard president of the Religious Association of Broadcasters.
