WFNE now on 106.3

WFNE North Cape May has completed its move down the dial from 106.7 to 106.3, and is now going by "Fun 106.3." The format seems to be the same.

I wonder how much better the signal is since they also moved to the WCZT 98.7 tower and bumped the power up to 6000 watts

So they are 106.3 and 106.7?
So does this mean they get to keep 106.7 and put something else on it? or does that mean that 106.7 goes away.

Perhaps they should sell it to Press and they can simulcast Thunder 106.
I doubt that would work since their only advertiser would be the Star-Ledger other than the generic Casino spots.

Who else would want to pay for multi-market ads for their local business?
Thunder 106.3/106.5 works because it markets to Monmouth and Ocean Counties. It would do no good targeting Cape May or Wildwood in Long Branch.

Then again, New Jersey is known for stranger things...

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

My kids and grandchildren in live Cape May Country, so I travel the Parkway often...heard this station several times since the holidays when it was on the .7 frequency and now on the .3 - and yes it sounds the same in many ways, I do get it a little further north now then I did but I must say...it still sounds pour. From the air talent to programming to the god awful news voice and everything in between. When I first heard it, I thought I might really like this station because they were playing some good stuff. Bottom line, it's hard to listen to long term.

Just an opinion from old retired GM & PD...

The should have made it a rock station. The philly stations don't work that great down the shore, so it would be good to have a rock station to listen to clearly.

Isn't MGM now a current based rock station? And doesn't ZXL come in well?

What about Alternative?

Same goes for what about dance, but be happy you have 103.7 as much as I have to deal with 99.3. Longport had the chance to bring back JSE, but it looks like tweaking Wild to AC was their final decision.

By the way, their website hasn't changed since they re-branded. It's been saying "new website coming soon" for 4 months.

There is probably a lot more than "a new website" coming.

Adult Alternative would be a good fit for 106.3. Wouldn't make a dent in the ratings, but the format delivers affluent listeners and apparently does well with local sales in tourist towns. See WRNR, WOCM, WEHM, WVOD, WUIN, WCTG, and WTYD for example.
