WFNI Files to "Resume Operations"?

STA's were in the past for getting back on the air because of an emergency beyond a licensee's control. And, the FCC would make one apply for a new CP because selling your tower site for millions is not an emergency.

Tell that to the former WERK in Muncie, which has been on STA since the late 90s.

The group that holds the 990 AM license in Muncie is not the same group that sold off the former WERK tower site. That makes this one different.

But since you brought up Muncie, That licensee owns an Indianapolis translator on 102.9 FM. WFNI needs to make a deal for an FM signal.

A Mr. Weaver owned the WERK license and the tower site in the 90s. Then he sold the towers and donated the license to a Ham group. Doesn't seem different than what Emmis is in the midst of doing.
 
The FCC gave an STA to the new owner of the 990 license but not to the guy who sold the tower site. But, more important now is for WFNI to make a deal to acquire 102.9
 
1070 may have been testing after11PM last night July16th. Sounded like an open carrier with the usual 1070 cheaters in the background.
