I just heard Prince "Let's Go Crazy." Where is FNX going right now?

Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" is a rock song. WFNX has been adding older rock songs (the Who, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones); playing Prince isn't a stretch.

I recall WBCN played "When Doves Cry" a lot when "Purple Rain" was released; Prince was hard to ignore in the summer of 1984. I think they also played Madonna's "Into the Groove".

Bob Marley has been a part of the alt format for a couple of decades. Not a shocker.

FNX has played Prince since it's inception in 1983. This is not a bad or out of the ordinary thing for them. If you want all jock rock then I would try WAAF.

BCN played Madonna?!? Even with heavy metal WCOZ (now gangbanger rap WJMN) out of the way I find that to be a stretch! If Hitradio 103 wasn't playing any Madonna song (unless she reached #1), then why would BCN play her? I knew enough to listen to Kiss (or WILD up to this point) for Madonna, and not anywhere else in '85!

I think that BCN was famous for playing Madonna's Like A Virgin 45 at 33 RPM instead. ;)

Yesterday I heard Todd Rundgren Think of Me played middday right after Lightening Crashes by Live. I thought that maybe I had it on ZLX and that they were tweaking their playlist instead, go figure.
