WFSB Wins May Ratings, Again

Does this market ever change, or is WFSB always number 1? WTNH did pretty well, and WVIT fell. WTIC's morning news experiment probably needs to be euthanized.

It's hard to compare WTNH to WFSB and WVIT because WTNH is based in New Haven and tends to cover more news from southern CT. My parents in Farmington never watch WTNH news because they said there is not enough coverage of the Hartford area.

Ratings have no correlation to quality.....thats fairly obvious.

4:30 to 9 AM makes no sense. You'll just repeat the same stuff over and over, unless there's breaking news. Having a newscast at 11 PM makes no sense either. I also hate the way Tribune does their cross promotion of WTIC and The Hartford Courant. I think WTIC should trim the morning down to 6-9 AM, run a 6 PM newscast and keep the hour at 10 PM, of course. Also, why do they even bother with the simulcast of the 10 PM news on WTXX-DT (CW)?

I wish WVIT-DT (NBC) would get a noon newscast. Does anybody here feel that their newscasts in HD will make much of a difference?

NBC 30 doesn't need a noon newscast as they already air news at 11am. Plus isn't FOX 61 surpose to be airing a noon newscast? If that is still in talks along with their 5pm or 6pm newscast. I think FOX 61 would be smarter starting a 4pm or 7pm newscast as their isn't one in the Hartford market. Other markets do have a 4pm and 7pm newscasts. Or maybe NBC 30 could do a 4pm and 7pm newscast and maybe drop the 5pm newscast to make their schedule look something like this:

3:00 Ellen
4:00 NBC 30 @ 4
4:30 Deal or No Deal
5:00 Extra
5:30 Access Hollywood
6:00 NBC 30 @ 6
6:30 NBC Nightly News
7:00 NBC 30 @ 7
7:30 Deal or No Deal
