WFSB's Scot Haney on Letterman

Check out today's Hartford Courant. WFSB weatherman Scot Haney was on Letterman the other night! This guy is so funny and really should be picked up by one of the NY stations. If I were WTNH or WVIT I would pay him whatever he wanted to jump ship. TNH and VIT will never win the morning time slot unless Haney leaves or they hire him.

Scot isn't going to leave Channel 3. He has been at WFSB ever since I can remember. Viewers know Scot as a weather man at Channel 3. Why would he wanna go to NBC 30 or down south to WTNH.

Why would Katie Couric...who has been at NBC for as long as I remember...go to CBS?

Seriously though, anchor jumping is quite commonplace. Al Terzi going from 8 to 3. Gerry Brooks going to Channel 30 after 14 years at Channel 3 (By comparison, Scot came to 3 in 1998) In New York, Roz Abrams, an institution at WABC-TV, jumped to WCBS-TV. Heck, even Hilton Kaderli filled in for Brad Field when Channel 30 was in a pinch a couple of years ago. The idea of course is the station throws these folks a lot of money with the hopes that they're regular viewers follow them to their new station.

Come to think of it, Scot was in the audience for a segment with Dave one time last year as well.
