Why doesn't Salem air an HD signal on 104.7? They could simulcast WGKA and/or WNIV, or air their canned Christian alt rock "AlternaFISH" format...see http://www.alternafishradio.com

Now that the FCC has allowed the HD power increase I would think more rimshots would be planning to start HD.
It was immediately obvious that the original power levels for HD only gave reliable service in the 70 dbu contour. Most rimshot stations knew much of their audience was outside the
city grade circle and did not pull the trigger and go HD. Now with the HD power increased by a minimum of 6 db (four times the power) HD coverage should almost equal analog coverage.
Stations like The Fish and J93 could possibly benefit greatly from digital signals. Big question - signal intensity even with the power increase. Many of their analog listeners are in the double to single digit microvolt range......
