WFTL "Live 85" is pre-empting Neal Boortz for Kelley Mitchell this week so they can discuss Katrina-related accusations of racism, incompetence, etc.
Dumb move. Boortz has only had a few weeks to build an audience.
And maybe some people don't want a whole week of talk devoted to FEMA, the mayor, the governor, and the president and all the crybabies who shout "racist" whenever they don't like something.
Well, I do enjoy listening to Kelley -- she's the only "fair and balanced" (and not in the Fox sense) local talk show host I know of here. But there are 21 other hours in the day -- other than Boortz time -- that she couild be on.
Hey James Crystal... I waited a couple of #$@#$ years for Boortz! And I wanted to listen today!!
Why can't they pre-empt O'Reilly for this discussion? If you really want to hear O'Reilly, you can still watch him on TV.
Besides, Boortz's libertarian point of view is rare and valuable in the post-Katrina environment in which the focus of discussion is on what government (at all levels) did, what government should do, what government shouldn't do, and what government really screwed up. Kelly's not even in the ballpark for that discussion.
How many Neal Boortz
fans will switch to WKAT, WJNO, WIOD, or even WINZ in his absence?
Sorry, Kelley. I'm glad you're back doing talk, but I won't be listening to you and Katrina this week. And I haven't listened to Rush in a while.
