WFTQ Internet Radio

Is this still a labor of love for Chuck Perks or are others now involved and assisting Chuck?

IIRC, there was an article about WFTQ being resurrected on the internet and he was hoping to someday bring it to terrestial radio.

Here is the link for WFTQ - http://www.wftq.webs.com/

DavidZ is right. I remember him being on WTAG in the late '70s or early '80s. Apparently he was at WFTQ before that. I tried checking out his history on Radio 440, but he's not listed there and I don't know his full (or real) name.

Great sounding operation - listened to them a bit over the weekend.

As for affording royalties - they are streaming through Live365 - as long as you pay for the package, your royalties are covered. Depending on the plan they are on, the only downside is limited listeners. Live365 offers various packages for both broadcasters and listeners (both can pay for plans). If a bunch of Live365 members/listeners are listening, that doesn't affect the "free" streams which are available to the regular listening public, who aren't members of Live365. I think the "free" streams available are in the single digits, while member streams are unlimited.

If they can't spring for a real domain, how can they afford royalties?

J Bruce was at WTAG circa 1975. I believe he left to be the morning person at WMEX or WITS, I forget whether they had changed call letters at that point. At WTAG, he was replaced by Thomas F. Gorham III. I think Jay moved out of the area and came back to 14WFTQ in 1982 (around then anyway) to replace Gary Nolan who got a job in Long Island. J Bruce was part of the modification of WFTQ away from 14Q (CHR) to 14WFTQ, a full-service AC station with focus as "Worcester's Weather Station". The station was trying to focus more on 25-54 year olds, particularly women.

Jay Bruce and Jon Taylor were paired doing mornings at WXLO..Jay had a big problem with his voice that came and went so after about 8 months he left radio..have no idea what hes doing today.
Lynne Mcnamee worked for a time at WSRS..\
Harry Jacobs last I heard was living in Nevada near Vegas..
