Why don't you email them both?? I'm sure someone there would know!

WSOU was all metal before 9/11/01, which forced them to tone it down a bit because of Seton Hall's reputation as a Catholic school.

On the air since 1948, WSOU has been a loud rock station since 1986. 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of its current metal/loud rock format. Except for Saturday mornings and Sundays, when the time is reserved for public affairs, community and religious programming, it is pretty much hard rock all the time on 89.5. I admit to bias, but I think the students at WSOU do a pretty good job and are to be congratulated for finding a niche and succeeding at.

WSOU- Loud Rock for 25 years! Punk is under the same umbrella of Loud Rock (Hard Rock). They still have Punk in the music library and have a huge selection. It's up to the DJ's to play it. That is why this college radio station is in my opinion the best. The DJ gets to choose what he/she plays within the format. The tri-state area and especially NY and New Jersey are home to many greats and they all call WSOU their home .
WSOU still has the same format, own a niche and they do an incredible job !!! Congrats to All !!!
