WFXT now available on Bristol County Verizon FIOS systems

This was an issue for FIOS subscribers where FIOS is available in Bristol County, which is in the Mansfield, Easton, and Raynham areas I believe.

When FIOS was launched, FIOS provided both the Boston and Providence channels in HD in Bristol County. However, WFXT was not on the system at all.

Comcast also provides Boston and Providence HD channels in Bristol County. They provide WFXT on the SD lineup, but they are required to black out WFXT during FOX network programming, per WNAC.

Now, WFXT is available in both standard and high definition on FIOS in Bristol County. However, the channel is still blacked out during network programming, so the only thing you could really see on WFXT HD is their HD newscasts.

For Comcast subscribers like me, we do not have WFXT on the HD lineup, while our neighboring communities, like Plainville, Foxboro, Stoughton, Bridgewater, etc, do.

There is also talk about this on the wall of the Save Boston Channels Facebook page.

For the network programming blackouts to be lifted on FOX 25 in Bristol County, FOX 25 would need to obtain "significantly viewed" status here. They have decided against doing so, but I believe they would have the ratings to achieve significantly viewed status.
