WFXT to launch 4PM newscast in April

Why not? WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford has had that for a couple of years now. (I don't watch it though.)

You know, I wonder if maybe this is just because there aren't very many high-rated syndicated shows anymore. I can't even tell you a single show that Fox 25 carries, except Dr. Oz. I'm guessing that will move from 4pm to 3pm, just like Ellen on WCVB. And I gotta say moving Ellen to 3pm was not a good move. I don't think it's gotten as high ratings. I think they should move Ellen back to 4pm, keep their 7pm newscast, and maybe even push Inside Edition to the wee hours. Does anyone ever watch that anymore?

I am curious about the cost/value of broadcasting syndicated broadcast network shows. The inventory is probably down because of the amount of reality shows and Channel 38 has the popular sitcoms of the past few years (Big Bang Theory and 2 and 1/2 Men). I wonder if the cable networks' syndication deals for the cop procedurals prevent or limit local syndication, if the local stations were even interested in hour long dramas during weekdays.
