WFXT's Angelica Thornton

Max over at BTVN is reporting that Fox 25's Angelica Thornton is leaving the station this week. According to Max, she says she wasn't forced out or fired. Max reports that she's leaving the station for "personal reasons."Good luck to Angelica in where ever she winds up. Fox 25 is losing one of their better reporters.Credit was given to Max and his website, since he had the information first.

Sorry if you were insulted. I gave you the credit where it was due. We all know who you are anyway, so what's the big deal?

You haven't insulted me at all. I assumed (what with all the numerous mentions of my name and BTVN) that you were making fun of my insistence on being given credit for the stories my site breaks. Whether I deserve to be made fun of or not is entirely your opinion - I think I probably do! Seriously though, I'm not in the least bit offended. It does, however, annoy me when I see the FTVLive's and Newsblues's of this world calling their reporting of certain Boston stories "exclusive" when BTVN has reported them as much as four days beforehand. The Herald never gives proper attribution when they quote us, either. And hey, it's what we're all here to talk about, so why not direct people to another valuable resource where they can find more information? As it happened, Angelica Thornton saw a post on BTVN which said she was being forced out in the same way as many people at WHDH have been recently. Since I'd gotten myself into a spot of bother over Wendi Nix's job security in the Herald, I pounced on the post and said that we had no way of knowing whether it was true or not. Angelica was then kind enough - out of the clear blue sky - to e-mail me to say that she was leaving, but was doing so on her own, just so we could clear things up. It's nice to know we're appreciated by the people we discuss.

Max: I was simply giving you the credit you deserved. You had the story first. Therefore, you deserved to be mentioned in my post. I posted basically what was on your site first. I didn't want you to think I was stealing your information or something. I just wanted to make sure that you were mentioned, since you had the information originally. I was not making fun of you or anything like that. I posted the Thornton information here, because some people may not know of your site.Mike at Newsblues constantly steals information, and makes it out to be his own "exclusive" story...after sites like yours, FTVLive, or TVSpy had it days before. As far as FTVLive goes, I subscribe to Scott's site, and I have never read anything posted by Scott labled "exclusive" when it was originally on another site. Mostly, he just copies and pastes articles from various newspapers and magazines.I'm glad that Ms. Thornton cleared up any rumor that she was "forced out." WFXT is losing a good reporter. As far as WHDH goes, I'm glad that I have no current interest in working there. I hear the place is a sweatshop, and they treat their people like dog sh*t. I hear the situation at WSVN isn't any better. It's a shame.
