What a great signal for a small station, in Center City, South Philly and Upper Darby the signal was like a local, city grade today. This means they do have a presence in the Philly market, btw.. heard your name mentioned Bob and also this site around 6:10PM or so. The new owners really love this board...

Oh yes, he does love these boards!!! He is real proud of WFYL and realises he's getting an extra boost of noteriety for signing on during one of the most tumultuous times in Philly radio history. I can't wait for when they roll out the local programming, coming in September. And, you are right, they do have great signal!

I was absolutely stund when I heard a new station at 1180 on the dial Tuesday August 22nd between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Since 1989, everytime I pass thru Philly traveling to the shore I put on 1180 AM with a quick walk down memory lane.

Ya see my wife and I applied for and received a CP for a new AM in Quakertown, PA. We went to Q'town zoning three times to get the towers built and we were tuned down three times. It was for 3 towers with 300 watts and the frequency.......1180. The call letters were WBCQ.

Today we own stations in Bloomsburg, PA.

Best of luck to the owners of WFYL. I am glad to see the station built and on the air.

Nice, clean audio and a solid signal (as you might expect) in Blue Bell.

If they want some nice big band music to fill empty timeslots, I bet I know where they can get a feed. ;D
