WGAO- Power 88 in Franklin

I just wanted to post here about Power 88 in Franklin, that runs a rock format unlike any other station. Rock from the 70s-today and no commercials. We also broadcast live Dean College sports and have some sports talk shows under the direction of fellow faculty member John Rooke. The station streams online at www.power883.org. I have worked many years on the air in Providence while running this station. Many top broadcasters came from our program here at Dean College. Please give us a listen. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 our DJ's are not live at this time, however our sports talks shows are being prerecorded and played on air. We are looking to forward our student staff returning. Please give us a listen.

Power 88 Experience

As the assistant production director, I have enjoyed my time here at Power 88. I have been a DJ since my freshmen year and every year keeps on getting better because with the support from Professor Michaels and my fellows DJs, I am able to gain confident in expressing my skills on air during talk breaks or creating PSA promos. It is an experience I will never forget and I am thankful for having the opportunity to work for Power 88.

When I lived within the city limits of Dorchester in Boston during the early 90s, I could pick up the station. They were Top 40 at the time. I also was only receiving the signal in mono. Have y'all been able go stereo since then?

The "listen now" link on the station's homepage leads to a player, which starts but provides no audio. There doesn't seem to be a schedule available, so I'm guessing that WGAO leaves the air for long periods rather than go to autopilot music.

They never go silent. There definitely is an automated system too. They program and sound like a commercial active rock station. Ive never known then to not be in stereo. The signal is decent but has to compete with WRPS and RenewFM

I was on the fringe of their signal. Proper playing with my antenna had them come in quite well most of the time!
