WGBH 2.1 and 2.2 Off-Air?

I've been having the same problem lately with my antenna setup. Also I'm seeing 2.3 and 2.4 listed but only when I get no signal on 2.1 and 2.2. AFAIK there's no problem with the delivery to cable systems. Perhaps there's some tower work being done?

Are any of the other Boston UHFs weaker than normal?

WGBH-TV uses a two tube transmitter, there is always the possibility one of the tubes is currently out. I don't know, I don't work for them. Have you tried calling them to find out?

WGBH-TV is on the same tower as WBZ-TV, WCVB-TV, WSBK-TV, WGBX-TV, and WYDN-TV.
WBZ/WCVB/WSBK/WGBX all feed the top antenna, WGBH the one just below it, and WYDN one below that.

Ch 56 is almost completely gone lately, its always been a hard one to get.

Suprisingly I was able to get them and WGBH in last night. Perhaps the atmospheric conditions were good. I still have problems with 38, and 44 has been spotty lately.

I used to pick up WYDN until about two weeks ago in the Pawtucket/Attleboro line, now there is no signal from the station.
