WGBH Analog Nightlight Signs Off Late

I decided to watch the final transition, and I noticed that WGBH kept their analog signal on 7 minutes past the legally required shut off time of 11:59:59 PM July 12, 2009. I wonder if they'll get in trouble for this...if anyone else was watching...

I think the FCC has better things to do than to slap the wrists of stations that go over a few minutes. Plus, they only seem to hand out punishments if viewers complain, or if stations admit to infractions. I doubt anyone is going to complain that an analog station stayed on too long. At least, I hope not.

I agree. Look, it's late in the evening. The WGBH-TV analog signal has been an afterthought since 6/12. So they forgot to put the switch by a few minutes. No biggie. As they say in the bigtime, "I'm sure it will never happen again". In this case, I quite agree ;)! It won't. Goodbye, Channel 2.

I dozed off waiting for the big sendoff. Oh....what sendoff?

I wonder how many people actually got any useful information out of the "nightlight" stations. Maybe the first few days some did, but after that....
