The call letter change was applied for last week. No announcement from Tarzian; just notices from RadioInsight and FCCData.org. IIRC, WWZN was 1510 in Boston from 2001-2012 when it aired sports. No idea what the story is here.
Hmmm. There obviously is something driving this change and I guess we'll soon know what it is. WGCL was airing 'America This Week' on Sunday mornings, but ceased doing that so I haven't listened in for a bit. Hope the station continues to operate well enough to stay on the air.
The station has flipped to sports, with mostly local programs from 9am to 6pm, and the Westwood One network in off-hours. It features former WIBC/WXNT personality Kent Sterling in mornings.
Conveniently timed with Indiana University's run to the NCAA football championship, Sarkes Tarzian has flipped "Bloomington's Voice" 1370 WGCL/98.7 W254DP
The website is still wgclradio.com, and only has the very basics, including the hosts and a media player that didn't work when I tried it. Tarzian still has a lot of work to do.
