Rest of Indiana WGCL/1370 Bloomington to become WWZN on 12/29

The call letter change was applied for last week. No announcement from Tarzian; just notices from RadioInsight and FCCData.org. IIRC, WWZN was 1510 in Boston from 2001-2012 when it aired sports. No idea what the story is here.

WGCL is currently a talk station, airing Dave Ramsey, Coast to Coast AM and other national talk shows.

When 1510 in Boston was using the WWZN call letters, the ZN stood for Zone, popular with some sports stations.

Hmmm. There obviously is something driving this change and I guess we'll soon know what it is. WGCL was airing 'America This Week' on Sunday mornings, but ceased doing that so I haven't listened in for a bit. Hope the station continues to operate well enough to stay on the air.

The station has flipped to sports, with mostly local programs from 9am to 6pm, and the Westwood One network in off-hours. It features former WIBC/WXNT personality Kent Sterling in mornings.

The website is still wgclradio.com, and only has the very basics, including the hosts and a media player that didn't work when I tried it. Tarzian still has a lot of work to do.
