WGCL and storms

If you wanna know where the storms are aheadin'...CBS 46 is on it. Impressive. I've been watching for about an hour and they've just now taken a break...wall to wall.

WSB was running coverage during the affliate hour. WXIA and WAGA are only running the weather warning bug, breaking in where they can.

WGCL is awesome in this. WSB was close, but Glenn Burns could not identify any streets when he zoomed in. Also, these guys need to be better at the local geography. WGCL is probably going to be able to pat themselves on the back for this one. WXIA and WAGA not holding a candle.

Considering that Glenn has been at channel 2 since 1981 I would have hoped he learned the roads around town.

I was very disappointed that all other stations ended storm coverage last night by 7:30pm. I give CBS46 credit for staying with it until just after 8pm. I lost my satellite signal around 8:30pm, so I don't know what they did after that point. Even with the extra coverage, I did not care for CBS46. While Norman did a decent job, the new guy bored me. To me, John Weatherbee is by far their best forecaster.
When I tuned into FOX5, before they stopped their coverage, they constantly harped on the northside while those of us that live south of the city, were ignored, for the most part.

I will give WSB credit for starting morning coverageearlier than the others. I was disappointed with 11 Alive's "extended" coverage- or lack thereof. I generally prefer their weather coverage over the others.<P ID="signature">______________

I am glad WGCL did their continuous coverage of these storms.. It got pretty bad down here in south metro. Did you guys see the new meteorologist? I cant recall his name, but I liked him.. The only thing that was "bad" about the coverage, was when they(Gene & Stephany) kept calling Heard County, Franklin County.. Especially when they were on the phone with Franklin(city) Police Chief, I don't know why he didn't correct them. Gene also called Coweta County(where I live) Newnan County, but he quickly corrected himself.. Other than that, CBS46 did an awesome job.

We switched over to Channel 2 just to see what they were saying about the storms. We too saw that Glenn couldnt get the streets to show up on the radar. IMO, Glenn was very boring that night.

But, I'm just glad we're all okay. :)
