WGFX and Preators to go two more years

Citadel sports talk WGFX (the Zone) Nashville and the NHL's Nashville Predators have signed a new deal, extending their relationship for two more years. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The Zone was the Predators' flagship for the 2005-06 season.

This sounds like a good deal. What will they do when their is a scheduling conflict with Vanderbilt. I have always thought that, when a conflict does arise Vandy should be the one to be moved to another station. However, the powers that be do not think that way. For that matter Citadel could move Vandy football and basketball both to KDF.

Glad this happened, as there was a lot of talk that the Preds might move from the Zone. Had they done that, it would have been the local version of the NHL going to OLN. The Vandy situation is because they were the first to sign on with the station, and specifically cited doing so because they kept getting bumped on their previous station (WSM-AM), so it must be in the contract. But it was made clear the Preds were looking for a one-station deal. Has this changed somehow? Everyone's tight-lipped. I enjoyed hearing Pete Weber cohost the NHL Draft show on Saturday. With him having that spot, is there something else that has changed as well?

AM560 WNSR picked up a few Predators games last year when Vanderbilt football or men's hoops became a scheduling conflict. Vanderbilt baseball and women's basketball can be occasionally heard on WNSR. Which has higher broadcast priority at The Zone: Preds or Commodores?
