WGKA brings Bill Bennett show to Atlanta

Bill Bennett broadcast from the state capitol was a homerun for WGKA.
While other morning shows were talking about seeing who wuld get drunk first after work WGKA brought the most intellectual morning show to Atlanta.
GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

From Wikipedia: On September 28, 2005, in a discussion on Bennett's Morning in America radio show, Bennett made remarks that have since touched off a debate about race, crime and abortion.

BENNETT: Well, I don't think it is either, I don't think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don't know. But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could — if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.

Riiiight. Um, I'll stick with the beer discussions thanks. Can't compete with that kind of logic. Does Bennett give good gambling tips? I'd listen to him then. God I love a good, Christian gambling addicted racist.

Politically, I am pretty much a moderate/liberal. But, I do respect Bill Bennett. He is a very intelligent
person that understands how Washington works. He is someone that actually knows what he is talking about and is not blowing hot air behind the microphone (see Mike Malloy, Randy Rhoads and
Sean Hannity).

no more calls please...we have a winner...no further comments are needed.
perfect.

Please...those comments were meant to point out an absurd argument by being absurd. Totally out of context.

Uh, BillyBoy I am betting that HUMOR was the intent of SalesWeasel and romer. Please try to find some for your own well being. You'll need it if you plan on sticking around here. It's a tough room.

Yes, I was attempting to be humorous. But then again, Bennett said those words. He said "black" not "Hispanic" not "white trash" or "Asian" -- he said "black." And he is a noted gambling addict.

All of that aside...thank god Atlanta finally has another conservative talk show host.

How is what Bennett said any different from Imus calling the Rutgers University women's b-ball team "nappy headed ho's"?

BTW, isn't Nappy Headed Ho's the AJC radio reporter's new band?

Did anyone hear if Rodney got to keep his job? He was supposed to re-interview today.

Home run? Doesn't someone have to witness a home run? It's like if a tree falls in the woods, well you know what I am trying to say. Did you know that WGKA has a program director. Can someone please explain that to me? I guess every 2 years he must decide what programs to run on the station. What a great job.

It's way different. One was a joke, the other a racial generalization and slur.

bill bennett is a big billowing blather of hot air and a hypocrite. always preaching values values values THEN gets caught being a gambling addict and darn near loses his entire family's fortune

typical old white right wing hardline blowhard who thinks he knows what's better for us than we do

Actually I caught part of this broadcast on the way in...I thought it sounded pretty good. I like Bennett's presentation. I find myself listening to GKA more and more...it's a nice alternative to WSB and WGST.

If Bill Bennett uses his hard earned money to gamble its really his business.
As long as he's not spending your EBT or food stamp money I don't have an issue with him gambling. Your just upset because he can gamble it away before you can steal it.
Bill Bennett's show is No 8 most listened to talk show in America.
If a tree falls while I'm listening to Clark Howard I would probably sleep
right through it.

not my fight...but...you're right...Bennet can do whatever he wants to with his money.
however, I find it beyond hypocritical that he preached about the evils of gambling while gambling to excess.

kinda like Limbaugh calling for maximum sentences for drug USERS while seriously abusing Oxycontin.

I don't need this brand of "moralists" telling me how to live... do you?

When did he preach against gambling? How do you feel about with liberal hypocracy?
Al Sharpton
Robert Kennedy Jr.
Jessie Jackson
I know he's not as popular as Scott Slade or Steve and Vickie but I find his show suites my needs.
This a radio blog not political, sorry for the sermon.
Have you heard the new Super 1230am and 1340am

Nope. Out of their signal range, so I went to their website to see if they stream. Didn't, but they DO have (and promote on their site) Imus in the Morning. :D ::)

Al Sharpton doesn't speak for me, I'm not a victim of anything. Bobby Kennedy Jr...whatever. Jesse Jackson...ditto. Bennett is a hypocrite and it has nothing to do with my politics. Don't preach morality when you don't practice it, okay? Fair?

Poor, poor WGKA. They have a great signal but nobody listens to them. They have a PD that probably fantasizes about having a real job where he is not programmed by corporate. We can all pretend that Bill Bennett has an audience but we all know better. Poor, poor WGKA.
