WGMD - Sad...

I just went there and that blue bar rotates to a second story that is about an accident on Rt. near some dairy farm. So they did have a news story there. Hey, its Lower, Slower Delaware. They don't have all the shootings going on down there that we have in Delaware's largest city.

WGMD used to have a regular news feed to Facebook. No more! They started sinking last Fall and have not - will not recover. In all fairness, many big stations have cut back big time on the Facebook activity. But WGMD is just a shadow of what they were.

I must confess I just went to WDEL's FB site for the first time, and they have a listen live button there. So I guess that means the folks with computers like me can listen from FB even though I'd just go to WDEL.com. So does that mean those with I-phones, Blackberrys, Crickets, Androids, etc, etc, can also listen via FB? If so I can see the value for having a station site on FB (or whatever the correct term is for a FB site).

Also these stations along with WDEL have a listen live button or a link to listen: WSTW, WJBR, and WOGL.

WILM, WGMD, KYW, WPHT, B-101, and WXDE Delaware 105.9 didn't. For those stations what's the point of being on FB? Seems like a waste of energy to not provide a way to hear your station once you get someone to your site on FB.

Mike, its just another form of marketing. Just like being on Twitter. Some folks are on FB and Twitter all day, even while at work. Being on there just helps keep your station present in a person's mind.

I went there; looks pretty good to me too. Guess it's a competition thing.
