murphmac, as I posted in the beginning of this thread, WAMU from Washington DC is simulcasting, on a 50K station in Rehoboth. Also there are two other NPR stations, one for Classical Music at 89.5 and 90.7 for NPR news/talk/info programming. Based on your comments, I'd assume you'd want to hear Liberal talk, or as they call it, Progressive Talk. You'll not find that in Red County Sussex, or anywhere in Delaware, other than Al Massitti's show on WDEL in Wilmington, you could pick it up on
www.wdel.com and on a good day pick it up on your radio at 1150AM.
However, here's a link where you'll find all sorts of Progressive Talk including Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller, Bill Press, etc. The link is:
www.tunein.com/ There's all sorts of various radio programs, both talk and music. Under Political talk you'll find Liberal. There you'll find a bunch of liberal talk. Also you can click to find radio station's for any city, like Wilmington. It will list the stations', their formats, and if they stream online, they provide the direct link. So where ever you move from, you could also probably find that's cities stations too and listen to your old hometown favorite online.
America is a great place where we have choices. One thing that makes America work is our ability to be TOLERANT of the other person's views, music, politics, religion, etc. Because you personally don't like the programming on WGMD doesn't make that station a waste of a frequency. They are a business. If the owner is making money playing polkas and is satisfied what's it to you? There are plenty of others who believe NPR is a total waste of many frequency's. Others who believe any and all religious stations are a waste of many frequency's, etc, etc. To each his/her own. No one is forcing you to listen to rightwing radio. There is a station selector and an ON/OFF switch, plus I've offered you a couple of other options.
You see, I'm a moderate who leans right. So I can and DO listen to right wing talk, left wing talk, NPR, SportsTalk, Topical Talk, and yes even Christian Talk, and all sorts of music (Classical, Jazz, Big Band, Oldies, Country, Classic Country, Christian hymns and CCM). So I can see value in all of those and am glad for the variety and the ability to listen to whichever I choose to hear that day. To each his/her own.
