WGME/WGAN partnership

(Disclosure: copied the link from a Dan Billings post on Boston radio)

As my headline implies, WGAN has switched from WCSH to WGME as a media partner. Usually this means ripping actualities from newscasts and getting the wx person to voice a few 30 sec wx feeds.

As is typical of the Phoenix's "media criticism" the writer is heavily critical of area outlets but never acknowledges the paper's own corporate ties. (While I've no proof, I've always been bothered by a Phoenix cover story that tried to sell Paris Hilton's album as "art". It'll take a lot of proof to keep me from believing the record companies slipped the Phoenix editors a few fivers for that one). That said, the article raises some interesting points. While I really like the folky approach from 'CSH, I'd like to see them apply it to some actual news for once...and stop trying to pretend the whole state is one big, happy region. Bangor deserves its own newscasts.
