Though Mr. Simpson has resisted all of these years on selling WGMR, it is his business on what HE does with HIS radio stations.
That doesn't make the man any less of a man.
He is still doing local radio in Wellsboro, Coudersport, Smethport, Tyrone, and other such small communities around the Keystone state.
Mr. Cary Simpson has lived and breathed radio for the bulk of his life. In fact, in the 20+ years that I have had the honor of knowing and appreciating Mr. Simpson with his friendship; I wished that I had had the opportunity of working for the man.
I wish that I would have had the opportunity of owning an empire such as his. Even, if it was in Coudersport, PA or Wellsboro, PA.
So, if you ever could come up with the money for a venture such as an AM/FM combo or even just one of the stations; contact Mr. Simpson. It would probably be like interviewing for a job when prospecting the idea of buying 1-2 stations from him. He wouldn't sell to just anyone. He would have to be sold on the fact that you are looking at a long term strategy for that community.
