WGNH Lexington

I noticed WGNH low power 107.7 has moved to 107.9. I tuned it to 107.9 today as I listen to The Link out of Charlotte sometimes and was surprised when I heard something completely different. I checked the FCC files and noticed they had a CP approved back in Feb. I assume the change occured over the weekend. No more listening to The Link I guess. :-\

Under FCC rules for low power stations you can only import signals from an outside source for a certain number of hours per day, the rest of the time has to be local programming even if it is recorded music, news clips, or local events.

Way too many signals on the FM band these days. I enjoy hearing those big signals from Charlotte, Greenville and sometimes Atlanta boom in. Guess we've lost another one now with the Link 107.9.

FM radio DXing is just like every other radio band getting less and less able to be done even with a band opening. I think it is a sign of things to come in the future with digital signals comming to every band, more FM stations on the air, the internet taking the fun out of hearing long distance signals since you can now communicate anywhere with no problem most of the time, and cell phones replacing two way radios yes DXing in most forms is dieing out. I think the powers that be want it that way.

I'm new here but I must infom you guys that you may once again listen to The Link out of Charlotte. WGNH-LP has moved once again to 103.5.
