WGNI blows the doors off of WRAL

Actually, the difference is pretty astounding at least to me. Both are Mix type "Adult Contemporary" stations, but GNI actually sounds cutting edge and RAL sounds like its on tired legs, comparatively speaking. GNI's 70s at 7, 80s at 8, and 90s at 9 on weekdays is better than anything RAL has ever done as well. Plus the imaging and jingles are far superior.

WGNI's night and weekend format needs to be changed or tweaked, but when you have a company like Cumulus Media that owns them, don't look for any changes in the near future, as for "Mix 101.5", i've not heard them in quite sometime, but they
continue to do well in the Raleigh/Durham market, i'm sure like many other stations, you have to "fine tune" your format every
now and then, and i'm sure WRAL-FM is trying to do that, although they should have stayed away from "NC State" football & basketball, but if it's making money for them, that's OK, and since most of the games are on weekends and some nights, it's not hurting them in the pocketbook or listeners.

So lets see, its not hurting them in the pocketbook or listeners - so how is it wrong for WRAL to carry NC State sports? Splain that one to me, please.

I think it's OK for Mix 101.5 to carry sports, i know many FM stations do these days, given the fact that it's better quality,
and in some cases, a good signal depending on the station frequency, power, and coverage.

I used to love "Lights Out" with Jim Thompson on RAL the request and dedication show they had probably in the late 80s to early 90s. RAL has always been a top notch station and is still family owned not by some huge corporation in another state. I've only heard GNI a few times and what I heard was pretty good, but I cannot get them here so the only basis I have is RAL unless GNI is streaming in that case I'd have to give them a listen to compare. I love the RAL of the early 80s with FBI and Zoot in the mornings a great combination. Bill Jordan is also a super guy too. I've personally met him.
