WGPA Bethlehem

I was on the NE Extension on my way to Wilkes-Barre today, and I tuned in WGPA just to see what they were up to after the death of Jolly Joe Timmer.

Wow. The Hava Nagila Polka, in between classic country, oldies, and rockabilly tunes

Now THAT'S what you do with a 250 watt daytimer.

Bill

It's now owned by another older gentleman and his son. A friend of mine knows him. It's actually a pretty wild and refreshing format but he does like zero promotion, even less than Jolly Joe ever did, so I'm not sure if 99.99% of the Lehigh Valley even knows it exists. Probably just does it for fun with his spending money. They have an FM translator. 98.5 in Bethlehem. Not a bad signal in the city.
