WGPA FM 36 YEARS LATER

to continue...the plugged was pulled and now when will joe get a low power fm to cover the valley now that they are being offered to daytimers? go joe!!!!

to clarify wgpa fm went away 36 yrs ago and am 1100 remains vibrant. i hope joe tries for a lpfm/translator as many daytime am stations are doing. go go go jolly joe.

Not up on my local FM history. 'Went away' how?

Meanwhile, the translator issue would seem to give Joe a good window to take things to the next level with minimum investment.

Maybe CC will sell off WZZO at a reasonable price, and WGPA-AM & FM can be together again!

OK...gotta quit dreaming...

Actually, Jolly Joe was already looking at a translator until the translator's seller cut a deal with a religious broadcaster.

Thanks for the link, Richard. Great information.

Was not WZZO called WZZO prior to becoming a rock station? Maybe I'm thinking of Scranton's Rock 107, but I seem to recall somebody changing format without changing the calls...

next time invite non controversial alumni...it would have been a hoot.... go for another 17 joe....but play more music on the mighty 11 oh oh.
