Does anyone here listen to WGPR? They are one of my favorite stations. I listen to them online from out of state. They play a huge library of quality music. I always discover something new when I listen to them. Last night I discovered Al Green-Lay It Down, I was in awe of how great a song that was and was quite surprised that it's from 2008. I didn't even know Al recorded music recently.
WGPR play a great range of music from classics to currents. They play lot's of "oh wow!" songs. For example they played Cece Peniston-We Got A Love Thang...I totally forgot about that song it sounded great.
My favorite Urban ACs are the ones that don't play too many of the young artists such as Trey Songz that get a lot of mainstream Urban airplay. I don't care for how sexualized these artists and their songs are. WGPR doesn't seem to play much of this...the currents they play are tasteful such as the new Sade,
Plus WGPR has a real community feel to it. They also have good quality morning news which is missing from a lot of music stations these days.
