WGR: live and local 10 am to noon

How is Mike Schopp doing with the extra two hours of Sabres talk weekday mornings on 550 AM?

I know I heard him complaining about it the other day on his normal show (has to get to work earlier, more show prep at home, longer work day for him as long as Buffalo is in the postseason, etc) for a significant time period. It was awkward and you could just hear Chris Parker squirming in his seat hoping someone would call in and change the topic or Mike would decide enough is enough with the bellyaching.

Anyways, haven't heard it yet this postseason. Heavy on phone calls or more of a monologue by Mensa Mike?

yeah he can cry me a river. i know more about sports than that dude AND i work a 60+ hour work week. there is so much going on in sports right now if you can't sound component, then you better find a new job there.

On another tangent...this could be an experiment to see if local talk 10-noon does better, and sells better, than Colin Cowherd's ESPN show. If there's an uptick in audience and in sales, it means they'll probably bring in a local host to bridge the gap between Howard Simon and the Jim Rome noon show. WGR used to be live and local from morning drive through 10 PM except for Rome, and IIRC it was stronger overall throughout the day. Schopp should want this to work, because if it does, it helps all dayparts...

This is only while the Sabres are in the playoffs, which is likely just for another week.

WGR has had part-time shows at 10am-Noon for many years, the people beg them to not keep Cowherd on, and they don't care.

I like Cowherd. Prefer to listen to "The Herd" over Jim Rome and "The Jungle" and I feel there are more out there like me.
