WGRP disapears again

WGRP is dark again. And in other news from the Glunt WEXY network, which is on WLOA 1470, it seems they are now running alot of Christian PSA's. They are not running very many local advertisers, mostly national ads, PSA's and a few locals. Quite a change from WEXC's FM incarnation. Looks like Mr. Arch is loosing local advertisers quickly.

There are times that I wonder if we're the only two people listening...you and I.

:D

When WEXC/107.1 was "live and local" out of Greenville, it had a pretty impressive stable of local Mercer County advertisers...at least from what I heard.

When the format moved to 1470, some of those same advertisers were around. Perhaps at some point, they figured that the station was a shadow of its former self, both in signal and on-air presence.

Last time I was over there (when 940 was still up), I heard the same PSAs you did. They're the same ones running on Beacon's 1570/Warren OH (tag: 888-NEED-HIM).

Not only a whole slew of Mercer County advertisers, there were quite a few Ashtabula County advertisers signing up for ad time. They're all gone. Some have moved over to "Cool 101" WMVL in Linesville. WMVL has added Andover (Ohio) to their ID's lately. Too bad they didn't pick up some of the DJ's from WEXC. I much prefer live and local to a satellite feed.
