WGRR 103.5 WOW!!!

I am suprised to hear them playing Eric Clapton - I Shot The Sheriff. It seems like more and more everyday they are sounding like a Classic Hits station with a Jammin' Oldies type song thrown in.

No surprise that it's taking on that kind of sound now, since the former PD of Mojo is at the helm. I think the biggest difference is that Cumulus cares about WGRR, and they were largely ignored by CBS. I find myself tuning in more often than I used to.

Back when we were trying to guess at what new format they would put on 96.5 (before the whole crazy radio station trade), I had guessed that they would go to a "Rock-n-Roll Hits of the 60's & 70's" format. This is a new format that Cumulus is going with for some of their stations. Don't be surprised to hear some 80's also mixed in. Roy Orbision "You Got It", Hall & Oates, Rick Springfield, Huey Lewis & the News, ect...

I am sooo glad to see WGRR is still doing well. We (the Dalton Group) flipped WBLZ from urban to oldies way back when, and it was one of the best Oldies stations I had ever heard. Glad to see it's still kickin and playin oldies! Take care of her for us.
